Adopt A Lawn and Build A Relationship!
COA is dedicated to promoting independence, dignity and wellness for older adults. Sometimes a little extra help is all you need to keep living independently and safely at home. This is the case for many of our clients, especially when it comes to yard work. COA is in great need of volunteers to "Adopt a Lawn". Our senior clients prefer to stay in their own homes but mowing grass and other minor yard work can become overwhelming. This can lead to an unsafe living environment for these individuals. Volunteers are not required to have their own equipment; however if not, they will be limited to what the client has. We ask that volunteers keep lawns manageable and safe so the frequency of mowing will be determined by the lawn itself. Groups of 2-3 is also an option.
