Senior Dining Centers

Come to COA Senior Dining programs at 5 locations around Buncombe County where you can eat a delicious, nutritious meal, get some exercise and make new friends.
The Senior Dining Program promotes the independence of people 60 and older by providing a safe, friendly environment to enjoy crafts and games, and get information about local activities and services.
Voluntary contributions are accepted but there is no fee for the program. Transportation is available through Mountain Mobility.

Avery's Creek Community Center (M-W-F)

Avery's Creek Community Center is located at 899 E. Glenn Bridge Road. Go I-26 south, exit at Long Shoals, turn right onto Long Shoals, go to Brevard Rd, turn left, go to light a couple of hundred yards down Brevard Road, then take the road that angles to the left, not the sharp left. This is E. Glenn Bridge. Go couple hundred yards to new the Fire Department on left. The Community Center is located in the rear of the Fire Dept.
Black Mountain (M-F)

The Lakeview Center is the senior center for the Town of Black Mountain, and is located at 410 Rhododendron Dr. at Lake Tomahawk. Go US 70 east. Just as you enter into Black Mountain city limits, you pass the Coach House restaurant on the left. At the next light, turn left (across from CVS Drug Store) on Craigmont. Go less than ½ mile - Rhododendron angles off to the right. Go ½ mile and you will see the lake and parking areas on the left. The Senior Center is the 2 story building at the rear of the pool.
Senior Opportunity Center (M-F)

The Senior Opportunity Center is located at 36 Grove Street in downtown Asheville. Go Patton Avenue towards downtown, turn onto Grove Street at Federal Building. Senior Opps is located adjacent to the NC Employment Service parking lot. Operated in collaboration with Asheville City Parks and Recreation.
Weaverville (M-F)

Located in the basement of First Baptist Church in Weaverville which is at 63 N. Main Street. Traveling North pass by front of church, and turn left at next road, Pine Road. Park behind the church.
Shiloh Community Center (Friday Only)

Located at 121 Shiloh Road. From I-40 and Exit 50, go south on Hendersonville Road. Turn left on Shiloh Road next to Nevada Bob's golf shop. The Community Center is on your right.
